The Teoumaville Community Council of Chiefs Charitable Association is established as a registered charitable organization under the Charitable Association Act (CAP 140) of the Republic of Vanuatu. Our constitution serves as the foundational legal document that governs our community, preserves our traditions, and guides our development.
The Association exists to foster a safe, harmonious, and prosperous environment for all residents of Teoumaville. Our core objectives include:
Community Development: Promoting and coordinating activities that involve the participation of all residents, regardless of age or gender.
Cultural Preservation: Preserving our unique history, custom, culture, and traditions while encouraging friendship among members.
Empowerment: Encouraging residents to engage in projects identified by youth leaders.
Public Safety: Establishing and enforcing bylaws to control criminal activity and maintain order within the community.
Membership is open to residents who own property or reside as tenants within Stages 1, 2, and the surrounding areas of Teoumaville.
Annual Contributions: To support community initiatives, each household is required to contribute an annual fee of 1,000VT.
Code of Conduct: Members are expected to comply with the rules of the Association. The Committee maintains the authority to discipline members who act in a manner prejudicial to the interests of the community.
The Association is managed by a Committee of office bearers elected or nominated at the Annual General Meeting. This diverse leadership team includes:
The Executive: President, Secretary, and Treasurer.
Representative Pillars: Dedicated leaders for Youth, Women, Church, Businesses, and People with Disabilities.
Enforcement & Health: A Community Safety Team (CST) and Health and Environment leaders.
Transparency is a cornerstone of our governance.
Annual General Meetings (AGM): Held to elect leaders and review the year’s progress.
Quorum: For any committee decision to be valid, at least 8 members must be present.
Voting: Decisions are typically made by a majority vote, ensuring every member's voice is represented through their elected leaders.
